The Academy Awards are right around the corner, and while I won't watch a moment of the broadcast, I'm hoping that one of my favorite films of 2009,
The Hurt Locker, scores a Best Director nod for Kathryn Bigelow. I haven't seen much of her other work, though, so she can't yet enter the pantheon of my favorite directors, which include Michael Mann, Martin Scorsese, the Coen Brothers, and a recent dark horse...me.
