Of all the pleasures earthly-kept
I salvaged one for me
I watched as daylight downward crept
The sun set on the sea
While distant vessels forged their course
Amidst the dim surrounds
While coastal breaths with kindly force
Published tidal sounds
That hour I committed all
Awareness I could muster
In hopes that one day I’d recall
The moment’s dusky luster
