A very San Francisco weekend

...involves heading north several hours (making a few impulsive stops on the way, if necessary, including one referenced in the first photo below) to Sea Ranch, a place known for architecture, golf, and abalone.  Over the course of an enjoyable weekend, I was treated to all three.

Sometimes I like to fantasize about living in solitude with a comfortable view cottage, and perhaps a typewriter or a workshop.  Yet after taking some walks on the beach, chatting with the harbor seals, and getting a brief fill of the nighttime constellations, I found that I was still anxiously checking my cell phone messages at the first indication of renewed service on the drive back up Sunday afternoon.
